"Public unrest about MPs expenses won't go away and we need to do more to be open about what we claim and why if we are to restore confidence in the House of Commons."

"Most of the information is already in the public domain if people know where to look for it so I've added a section to my website giving more information about my arrangements and linking to all the various places where constituents can find details of what I claim and why."

"The decision by the House of Commons Commission to further challenge the publication under Freedom of Information is understandable in so far as it seeks to restrict the publication of MPs addresses where those MPs are at risk. However, they should not go any further in light of current public concern and we have to be more helpful to those members of the public who are interested in these matters. I hope my website now does that."
