Below are some statistics which show real improvement in educational standards in South Thanet.
Literacy and numeracy at age 11 are up 14% for English and 7% for Maths. since 1997. At 14, the figures are 20% and 13%.
Funding per pupil has increased by some 35% in real terms and South Thanet has over 140 more teachers than when the Labour government first came to
power.
