South Thanet MP Stephen Ladyman, together with Councillors Elizabeth Green and Mark Nottingham, have met with
residents of Violet Avenue in Ramsgate to collect a petition urging the Highways Department to take action against the use of their road as ‘rat run’.
Dr Ladyman has stressed the urgent need for the Highways Department to consult with local residents who are deeply concerned about the
dangerous driving that has occurred as a result of people using Violet Avenue as short cut between Margate Road and Pysons Road. ‘The best solution would be to close off the direct route
between Pysons Road and Margate Road, and I hope Highways will look seriously at this idea,’ said Stephen.
If you would like to recieve more information about the petition to end the rat run, or an update on the plans KCC have to improve the
situation on the Margate Road around Westwood Cross, please leave your contact details below and Stephen will be happy to contact you.
Alternatively, feel free to leave your views on the situation in the comment box at the bottom of the screen.
