The landlord of the Sportsman in Cliffsend has handed over a £2100 cheque for the Thanet Hospice to local MP Steve Ladyman. A further
£200 was raised on the night and a weight watcher who lost 7st has contributed another £300. Collecting the cheque on behalf of the Hospice, Steve Ladyman said:
"I'm honoured that the Sportsman asked me to receive this cheque on behalf of the Hospice. Every one of us that lives in Thanet knows what great work the
Hospice does. We all have a friend, or a relative or a workmate that has needed their help and they give that help when we are in the most dire need. It’s a wonderful effort by the customers of the
Sportsman to raise £2600 to keep the work of the Hospice going and I congratulate every single person who took part."
A further £200 was raised on the night making a total of £2300 and a weight watcher who lost 7st raised a further £300, making £2,600.
