South Thanet MP Stephen Ladyman and a team from his constituency office joined nearly 80 others on Saturday to complete an 80 foot abseil at the Port of Ramsgate to raise money
for young cancer sufferers and their families.
Steve’s team raised over £700 for the event, organised by CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity - which made braving the dizzying heights and cold November
wind well worth the effort.
Steve’s team, called MP4, consisted of Rob Griggs, Vicky Holden, Jessica Pike and Steve himself.
Steve said. "I’m getting too old for this sort of thing but my staff were keen that we all took part. Since we raised a tidy sum for the charity and had a good time, it was
worth it in the end. In future, though, I would prefer walking along the cliff top and enjoying the view to abseiling down it on a rope."
