Steve joined over 80 South Thanet Veterans at the Clarendon House Media Centre in Ramsgate to celebrate National Veterans Day on the 27th June.
The event, hosted by Dr Ladyman in honour of South Thanets Veterans, was a huge success and there are plans to make it an annual event. The Veterans enjoyed music performed by Clarendon House students, including some excellent singing and violin renditions, as well as food and drink served by Steve's team.
It was a great pleasure listening to the many stories told by the Veterans about their time in the services, with tales of both great sacrifice to great fun. Was became clear was the sense of pride felt by all those present in having served their country, as well as the comradeship which has kept many of the veterans friends for decades since they left the services.

Veterans Day follows the great success of the Veterans Badge scheme, which offered a commemorative badge for all those who have served in all branches of the services. Badges are also available for those who served in the Womens Land Army and for the 'Bevin Boys' who worked tirelessly down the mines in support of the war effort.
It is vital that we remember and honour the sacrifices made by all those who have served, and continue to serve, in the UK's armed forces to keep the rest of us safe.
