Unfortunately, the election in South thanet did not go the way I hoped. South Thanet now has a Conservative MP.
It was an honour to serve as the MP for thirteen great years and I'm proud of what we achieved together. Thanks to everyone who helped and supported me.

In December this year a new high speed rail service will being operating from Thanet stations to St Pancras and Stratford, slashing travel times to London and the rest of the UK.
Steve has fought for this service since becoming the MP for South Thanet, and is delighted that it is almost here.
Those who currently wish to commute from Thanet to London, and vice versa, have to brave a four hour round trip, putting off all but the hardiest commuters. This new service should help bring much needed investment and new jobs to our isle.
